Ash Street Project is pleased to host a lecture and demo with Josh DeWeese, in conjunction with his exhibit at Eutectic Gallery
Josh DeWeese and ASP mentee Ben Skiba will lecture about their work and experiences.
Lecture: Wednesday, June 1st
Doors open at 6:30pm, Lecture begins at 7pm
Demonstration: Saturday, June 4th, 10am-4pm

June 27-July 1, 2016 Appalachian Center for the Crafts, Smithville, TN Playful Practice: The Art of Pottery

What are the elements that contribute to the character of a pot? How do you develop them to make them your own? This is a workshop for developing your pottery as an expressive art form. The class will include instruction of different ways for making pots, using throwing and altering techniques, and firing them in an atmospheric salt and or soda kiln. Ideas and information for surface treatments and firing techniques will be discussed and shared. Presentations of the artist’s work and contemporary ceramics will compliment this hands-on experience.
